“A human being has so many skins inside, covering the depth’s of the heart. We know many so many things, but we don’t know ourselves ! Why, thirty or forty skins or hides, as thick and hard as an ox’s or bear’s, cover the soul. Go into your own ground and learn to know yourself  there.” ― Meister Eckhart

In our ancient days gone by the local shamans, priests, monks and teachers, they taught and we learned the practices of prayer, meditation, sacred dancing and music/drumming, chanting, strategies and rituals to improve our  psychological, physical, mental and spiritual health. Then came along writing and literature, and organised sports like karate, tai chi and yoga, by taking part we recognised the commonality we share but also highlighted and accentuated our uniqueness in being me.

As a practice each of the above would lead to a goal, a moment of enlightenment, revelation, the purpose and meaning of your life.

Soul Searching is just that, it’s personal. It can be anything you want it to be.  There are common things it entails, but how and when and why it involves them is as unique to you as you are to the cosmos.

It means you become more aware of all the things and people around you that let you know, you are raising your consciousness. And, as you do, you transcend your negative beliefs and habits, that help’s you clarify your vision as you join the search party where you define your purpose and meaning for your life.
